James Batmasian is eager to expand his real estate empire. Investments Limited own about 260 properties, including 4,000 residential units and 4 million square feet of commercial real estate, he said. Most of it is in Boca Raton, Coconut Creek, Delray Beach and Boston.

Batmasian is working to gain approval to build the Royal Palm Hotel in downtown Boca Raton. It would have 144 extended-stay rooms with retail and restaurants on the first floor. There would be lots of extra parking, a rarity in the area.
